- Previous / next page navigation; pretty self-explanatory.
- Home button returns you to the main screen.
- Menu button: Bring up the on-screen menu to allow you to do things like turn wireless on, navigate to a specific page, etc..
- Back button: Takes you to the last page you were on.
- QWERTY keyboard: Used for navigation, find function, dictionary and searching the Kindle store, among other things.
- Power switch: Self explanatory.
- Headphone port: Used for listening to text to speech books, where this feature is allowed by the publisher.
- Charging port on the bottom: Used to charge and sync your Kindle with a computer.
Correction: The Kindle does not come with a protective sleeve in the box. A cover is available as an add-on accessory.
