In this episode we'll show off some of the more

advanced multimedia features

of

Windows Phone 7 devices

. Not only can you

play music, movies and podcasts

on your Windows Phone 7 smartphone, you can also

listen to FM radio

and

stream media

to other devices. We'll show you how to do all that and more in this tutorial.

Show Notes

- You will see a Play To tile on your Start screen which allows you to stream media to other DLNA devices like TVs.

- Tap Music + Videos and you will be brought to the Zune interface which should be familiar with Zune HD owners.

- Here you can play music, videos or pictures and view your history. Tap the play button to play or pause and tap the arrows to go forwards and backwards.

- Music will continue to play when you navigate away from that menu. You can control the music played using controls that appear near the top of the screen when you hit the volume rocker.

- When playing videos you'll notice that the forward and backward buttons will jump video forward or backward by 30 seconds.

- You can also play radio though you'll need to have a headset attached. Roll your finger along to scan frequencies or flick to jump between stations.

- Tap the star icon to access favorites or the star with the + icon in it to add favorites.

- Go to podcasts to access your podcasts. These will automatically be copied from your computer using either iTunes or Zune.
