Accessing the Marketplace on the HTC HD7

As with other smartphones out there, the HTC HD7 can

download apps

to expand its list of available programs. On Windows Phone 7 devices apps can be found in the Marketplace. To get to Marketplace, you'll need to go to the start screen and select Marketplace. You'll see a list of different categories so you can select what type of app you're looking for. Swipe left and right to see different views.

Among the available categories are games, entertainment, lifestyle and so on. Once you're in a category you can sort these apps in a number of different ways. You can choose to view the newest or see just the apps that are free. Selecting an app will give you more information about that app including

user reviews

, pricing details and more.

From the app description screen, you can also choose to install or try the app, or share information about it. If the app that you're installing uses your location information, you'll be asked if you want to allow the app access. Choose allow to start the install and you'll see a progress bar appear.

Once you've finished downloading an app, you can open it by going to the start screen. Once there, swipe to the side to bring up your apps list where you will see the new application. You can tap and hold on the app to get the option to pin that app to the start screen.
