Adding accounts using Synergy

Synergy is a service that is built into webOS that allows you to sync information to your

HP TouchPad

from accounts such as Google, Facebook, Skype and so on. To start

syncing using Synergy

, swipe up from the bezel of the TouchPad and tap the upward arrow icon. Now, swipe left until you get to the settings tab and click on Accounts.

From here, you'll see that there are a number of services that you can sync accounts with including AIM, Dropbox, Photobucket, email services and more. First, we'll show you how to set up an existing Skype account. Tap Skype and then tap Sign In. At the next screen, you'll want to enter your

username and password

and then tap Sign In. Before you're finished, you'll need to choose whether you want to allow other apps to access elements of your Skype account. This includes contact information and so on, so you can move the slider to no if you'd like.

Adding a Facebook account works in much the same way. Just select Facebook from the list, enter your email address and password and you'll be able to sync your account including your calendar, contacts and photos. One reason that you might not want to allow these elements to be synced is that many people have hundreds, if not thousands, of Facebook contacts. Syncing all of these can fill up your address book with unwanted contact clutter. Once you've synced your account, you can see the results immediately. If you've synced your Facebook photos, you'll be able to find those in your Photos app on the HP TouchPad.
