When you have contacts that all use different instant messaging networks it can be hard to stay in touch. Enter Adium. You can add all your contacts from a wide variety of messaging services and have everyone in one easy-to-use interface. Adium is a great way to manage multiple IM clients, all in one place.

Download Adium for the Mac and follow along with this tutorial series



- To add contacts you first have to add Accounts.

- Remember that you must already have established accounts on any IM service you want to connect to via Adium.

- Click on File and then on Add Account. Select the IM network you want to add.

- Enter your username and password and click OK.

- Click on Contacts and then on Add Contact.

- Select the network from the drop-down menu and type in your contacts screen name.

- Assign them to a group and click OK.

- When the contact has approved you, you'll be able to instant message with them from Adium.
