Adding name tags to photos

Pt. 7 of 10 | 3:01 |

Picasa beginner's studies

Tuesday December 14, 2010
Picasa has many cool features, but we're going to show you one of the coolest and most useful in this episode:

adding nametags

. If you

add a name tag

to one of your photos, then Picasa will

automatically tag pictures

with that person in them so you can always

find pictures

of whoever you've tagged.

Show Notes

- While in Picasa, you'll see the People tab on the left with the Unnamed box below it.

- If you click here, you'll see a list of people that you've taken pictures of along with a box that you can click on to add a name.

- As you identify people by typing in their names, Picasa removes more photos from the unnamed list.

- Picasa will automatically find pictures of that person and take those out of the lists as well.

- If you see a face you don't recognize, you can click the X and tell Picasa to ignore that face.

- Picasa will show an orange question mark when it wants you to confirm its picks.

- You can click confirm all if all of the photos are correct.

- Click the People button while looking at a photo and Picasa will show the names of any people it recognizes in the photo.

- If you make a mistake, you can move photos from one name to another.
