- Open TextExpander by going into System Preferences and then clicking on the TextExpander icon.
- TextExpander has defined variables that you can include in your Snippets.
- The special variable, or symbols, can be found on the TextExpander FAQ Page
- When you get to the page scroll down about two-thirds of the way down the page to find the variables.
- In TextExpander you can use the variables to create powerful Snippets that combine elements of other Snippets.
- Use the variable %snippet:%: to insert an abbreviation into a Snippet.
- Use the variable %clipboard: to insert the contents of your clipboard.
