Advanced zoom functions in Safari 4.0

Sometimes when you're working on the Web you encounter pages that use a really small font which makes them difficult to read. Or, the web page is okay, but your eyes aren't quite what they used to be. In either case

Safari 4.0

has some excellent

zoom features

to help you out.

show notes

- On a Web page you can click View and then move down to

Zoom In or Zoom Out

.

- Rather than do this you can also add zoom functions to the toolbar.

- Click on the gear icon and select Customize Toolbar.

- Find the Zoom icons which is a lower case and upper case A and drag them to the tool bar.

- Now, when you're on a Web page you can click the large A on the toolbar to zoom in and the small A to zoom out.

- With normal zoom the graphics get larger along with the text.

- To counteract that click on View and then on

Zoom Text Only

.

- Now when you zoom in only the text will get larger and the graphics images will stay the same. This will generally affect the page's layout however.

- After a session of zooming in and out you can get your pages back to normal by clicking View and then Actual Size.
