- Unlike the iPhone, you can run multiple applications at once on the

Palm Pre

.

- Hitting the home button brings you to

card view on the Palm Pre

where you can see which applications are running and jump back into a running app by tapping its card.

- To close an application, swipe it off the top of the Palm Pre's screen in card view.

- The Palm Pre's browser is based on the open source WebKit engine which makes for a good on-device browsing experience.

- The "wave" dock allows you to launch commonly used apps. Just drag your finger up from the gesture bar to access the wave.

- To access other applications, click on the launcher icon in the dock or wave.

- The

Palm Pre

features an accelerometer that senses the phone's orientation and changes the screen accordingly.

- Keep your eye on the notification area on the bottom of the screen. Important events, missed calls and email notifications appear here.

- Tap on the notification bar to get a more detailed view.

- Tap on the detailed view to launch the appropriate application.
