- Superstars are another function that can be found in Labs.

- You can turn them on, select the ones you want to use and be able to search each one by item.

- Click on Settings and then on Labs.

- Scroll down to Superstars and check Enable. Also click Save Changes.

- Now go to the General tab of settings and you'll see the Superstars listed.

- Select the ones you want to use.

- Hover the mouse cursor over each one to see its name.

- Click on any you don't want and just drag them down to the ones that aren't being used.

- Click Save Changes.

- Now you can work out a flagging system that you prefer using the Superstars.

- Having done that, you can search for any starred items.

- Enter "has:red-star" to find all email tagged with the red-star.

- Note that there is no space between the colon and the star name.

- You can save Superstar searches as Quick Links as discussed in Gmail 301.
