- Digital SLRs are digital single-lens reflex cameras.

- Digital SLRs, or DSLRs as they're often called, are digital versions of the old standby SLR cameras.

- DSLRs are mainly composed of the body, the lens and any attachments you may be using.

- Digital SLRs capture images with a digital sensor and store them either on compact flash cards or secure digital (SD) cards.

- Common buttons and switches to DSLRs include the power button, shutter button, a mode dial and selector buttons.

- Selector buttons and the display at the back will vary between models.

- Depending on your model, your camera may or may not have a built-in flash.

- DSLRs will also have a flap under which you may find a USB port, A/V port and accessory port (as seen on our model).
