How Do I use AppleTV

In this episode, we show you how to customize your
AppleTV settings
. We've already shown you some of the settings like theNetwork and iTunes Store settings
but here, we'll show youhow to use parental controls
to limit access to your AppleTV, how to modifyaudio and video settings

- To access your AppleTV settings, just go to the Settings column from the main menu. Click on General.
- About gives you basic information about the AppleTV device while Name allows you to give it a specific name.
- The Network and iTunes Store options were detailed in episodes three and four respectively, so if you didn't watch those, feel free to go back and watch them for more information.
- Parental Controls allows you to control access to certain functions of your AppleTV device. Select Turn On Parental Controls and you will be asked to enter a password.
- Once activated, you'll be able to set the access levels to the various features of your AppleTV. It's important to remember this password if you want to avoid doing a factory reset.
- Under Remotes, you can choose to unpair your remote or choose to use a different Apple device as your remote.
- Sleep After allows you to set how much time will pass before AppleTV goes to sleep, while Send Data to Apple controls whether usage data is sent to Apple.
- Language changes the language of the device, Legal will show you legal information and Reset allows you to reset your device.
- Still in the Settings column but outside of General are more options including: Audio & Video, which are self explanatory audio and video options; AirPlay, which allows you to restrict access to AirPlay; Computers, which allows you to turn Home Sharing on and off; and Sleep Now, which puts your AppleTV to sleep.
