If you often need to search your Gmail archives, you may be getting tired of typing in search criteria like "label, from, to, has" and so on. We'll show you a way to abbreviate those searches.

- If you get tired of typing in the Gmail search terms there are shortcuts for some of them.

- Here is the list

^f sent mail
^i inbox
^k trash
^r draft
^s spam
^t starred messages
^u unread mail
^b chats

- So instead of typing label:unread from:bob you can type:

- l:^u from:bob

- Instead of typing label:chat from:andrew you can type:

- l:^b from:andrew

- Instead of typing label:starred label:trash subject:report you can type:

- l:^t l:^k subject:report

- To speed up the process further you can make macros to insert most used searches.
