Show Notes

- While online dating can be a good way to meet people, it's also a place for scammers to try to take advantage of those with honest intent. Here are some

online dating red flags to look out for

:

- People who live far away asking for money to come visit you.

- Someone promising you gifts, but you must wire them money first so they can ship it. Also, they'll need your address which is another no no.

- If someone says they're in trouble and they need your help. Chances are, if someone you meet online can't reach out to a friend or family member first, then you most likely don't want to date them.

- Craigslist personals. There are personals on craigslist, but they're very easy to post to and a lot of them are crude, hence the reason you need to verify that you're over 18 in order to read them. If you're really serious about online dating then try to stick to websites that specialize in online dating - not a classifieds website.
