wiping your Motorola Droid
andinstall a new rooted ROM
. We'll show you how to install the new rooted ROM, but we also recommend that youback up your Droid's data
first so that you can restore it later. Once you've done that, you're ready toroot your Motorola Droid

- In these next steps, your Motorola Droid will be wiped and a new rooted ROM will be installed.
- Back up anything you want to keep and restore later.
- Take the onix-beta.zip file and rename it to update.zip.
- Make sure it is not named update.zip.zip.
- Put the update.zip file in the root directory of your phones SD card using Windows Explorer or any good file manager.
