Change your desktop theme in Windows XP

By default, Windows XP uses a blue color scheme, sets a desktop wallpaper you may or may not like. Customizing your PC by changing the color scheme, window appearance and other elements to give it a look and feel you like is easy in Windows XP.

- Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop and select Properties in the context menu.

- In the window that appears, select a theme from the pull-down menu for a preview of how it will look on your PC.

- Once you've selected a theme you're happy with, click on Apply to see the result.
