Windows comes with a default desktop wallpaper. In Windows XP it was the green fields and a partly cloudy blue sky. In Vista it was something glassy. Fortunately, Windows also comes with other wallpaper and you can find or make your own.

- Right-click on the desktop and select Properties.
- In the dialog click on the Desktop tab.
- Here you'll see your current default wallpaper and a list of other backgrounds to pick from.
- You'll also notice a Browse button to go off and look for other wallpaper candidates on your computer.
- You'll note a Position option where you can elect to tile, center, or stretch your image.
- Note that if you use a small image when using a high screen resolution that if you stretch the image the desktop will look grainy.
- Many sites that have wallpaper will show different sizes for this reason so you can get the size you need.
- When you find the wallpaper you want select it, click Apply, then OK, and you're done!
