We all make mistakes. Sometimes, you choose a username for an online service that is now either embarrassing or downright lame. We're looking at you hockeyguy523. You too, lovetheladies141. Fortunately, with Twitter, there's an easy way to change your username without losing your followers or disturbing your Twitter stream. Here's how to change your Twitter username.

- Log into your Twitter account.
- Go to Settings and click on the Account tab.
- See the username you signed up with in the box immediately below your real name. Your Twitter name is also your Twitter vanity URL, i.e. twitter.com/butterscotchTV.
- To change your username, highlight your existing username and input the new one you'd like to use.
- If the username is available, input your password in the appropriate box to complete the change.
- If the username you want to use is taken, try a different one.
- It's a good idea to send a tweet telling your followers about your new username.
