Adium makes it easy to chat with family and friends across a wide range of instant messaging networks. You can talk back and forth, use emoticons to express your feelings, add hyperlinks to your messages, change the font, the font color and more. Adium makes it fun to chat with all of your contacts.

Download Adium for the Mac and follow along with this tutorial series

- Open Adium.

- Double-click on a contact to talk with them and see all the available options.

- You can click on the smiley face to insert a range of emoticons into your messages.

- You can click on the blue ball with minus sign to Block a contact from messaging you.

- Your messages can include hyperlinks which are text links that include an embedded URL.

- You can insert a link into your browser to go to that page on the Web.

- If you like you can change your font and the font color to spice up your chats.

- Adium also offers encrypted chats, file sharing, and transcripts which will be covered in other segments of this series.
