- Android system updates can add new features, fix security holes and more. As Android system updates happen over the air, no computer is required.
- Some manufacturers modify Android and may block this feature or require you to connect to a PC.
- From the home screen, tap the menu button and choose Settings.
- Scroll all the way down to About phone and tap to enter. Tap the top item in this list, System updates.
- If there are any available updates, you'll see details of the update and an option to update.
- Because updates happen over the air, they can take a while to be downloaded. Ensure you're connected to a Wi-Fi network and you have your Android phone plugged in for the duration of the update process.
