Checking-in with foursquare

Pt. 3 of 10 | 1:35 |

getting started with foursquare

Wednesday June 16, 2010
Foursquare's primary purpose is to check-in at various places in order to

tell people where you are

or to

comment on a place

you are currently at. Basically, checking-in is to foursquare what tweeting is to Twitter. Here we'll show you

how to check-in with foursquare

and

how to find a business

that's interesting enough to check-in to, whether it's a sushi bar or a local mall.

Show Notes

- Foursquare allows you to "check-in" to various locations.

- If you go to the Places tab at the bottom, you can see nearby places.

- If the place where you are is not in the list, you can run a manual search for it using the search box at the top.

- You'll be given a list of Matching Places and if the one you are looking for is there, you can open it.

- Here you will see information about the location including its address and whether other people are present. You'll also be given the option to Check-In.

- While checking-in, you can choose to leave a message and elect whether to share that with your friends or not.

- Tap Check-In once you're ready and you will be checked-in at that location.
