Hotmail's e-mail system is easy to use. In this episode we'll show you how to compose e-mail as well as a few tips and tricks for getting it done faster. We will also show you how you can use Hotmail to send e-mail from other e-mail accounts that you have access to.

Sign up for Windows Live Hotmail
- To create a new e-mail click New from the navigation menu beside the word Hotmail.
- Your new message will appear on the page. You can select which e-mail address you want the recipients to see your e-mail as having originated from.
- To do thism click on the arrow to the immediate right of the name next to From. A drop down menu will appear with choices of your e-mail addresses.
- If you wish to add an alternative e-mail click Add an e-mail address.
- The page Send and receive mail from other e-mail accounts will appear. At the bottom of the page you'll see a link called Add another account to send mail from. Click this and follow the instructions.
- Once the new e-mail account has been verified as yours you will be able to send e-mails from that account through Hotmail.
- Back to composing e-mail: To select the recipients of the e-mail click in the To: field. As you begin to type names Hotmail will assist you by listing people in your contacts with those characters in the name. You can select from the list or continue typing yourself.
- You can also click the To button and select contacts from your address book or categories lists.
- To mark an e-mail as high importance click the exclamation point above the e-mail.
- To mark the e-mail as low importance click the downward pointing arrow above the e-mail.
- An e-mail does not need to be marked as either high or low importance to be sent.
- Type in a subject and the text of your e-mail and click Send.
- Your sent e-mail will be stored in you Sent folder located on the left navigation menu.
