Parental controls can be a very important tool for parents. The Internet is an amazing place full of knowledge, wonder and communication unlimited. It can also be a dangerous place with hackers, phishers and even predators. Fortunately your Mac has built-in Parental Controls. In part 1 we showed you how to access the Parental Control panel. This is part 2 of 2 of our Parental Controls feature.

Show Notes

- Open System Preferences by clicking on the icon in the Dock or by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting System Preferences.

- Under System click on Parental Controls.

- In the menu on the left pick the user you want to set up Parental Controls for.

- Click on Time Limits.

- Here you can set limits for Weekdays, Weekends, and Bedtime.

- Adjust the amount of time that the computer can be used each day.

- You can set the time from 30 minutes to 8 hours per day.

- Be stricter during the week and give extra time on the weekends, or whatever works for you.

- Click on the Logs tab to see the logs for Websites visited, Websites blocked, applications that were run and what went on in iChat.

- Parental Controls Logs gives you a way to monitor the activity that took place on the Mac.
