Speed dial is an addon for Firefox that gives you an easy way to visit frequently used sites. You can configure how many columns, how many rows, where prompts appear, and more. If left to the defaults the images that are displayed would be constantly changing, but here's a way to make nice, neat images that are easy to read.

- Open Firefox.
- Download the Speed Dial Addon and install it in Firefox.
- For now we'll bypass the other options and just show you how to get nice, neat images.
- On the tab of the Web site you want to add just right-click and select Set As Speed Dial and pick a unused number.
- Now, in your Speed Dial page right click on the time and select Edit.
- On the Basic tab change Refresh to Never.
- On the Layout tab select Fit Both.
- On the Crop tab check Enable thumbnail cropping the then click Crop Selector.
- When the image of the Web page comes up use the cross-hairs to pick what you want as the image for that page. Select it by holding down the mouse button and moving around it. Click OK.
- A dialog will come up telling you that your selection will alter the thumbnail and just click Yes and then click Okay.
- You'll now have a nice, neat graphic to represent that Web site and the image won't change until you change it.
