Setting up Dual Monitors on your Mac

With

two monitors running from your MacBook Pro

, you can choose to keep your laptop monitor as the primary display or, when connected to the

secondary monitor

, use that one as the primary display. You can also choose where you want the Dock and the system menu to display on either display.

- Open System Preferences either by clicking on the Dock icon or by clicking the Apple menu and selecting System Preferences.

- Click on Displays.

- In Displays, click on the Arrangement tab.

- At the very top of the primary display is a white bar that represents the menu bar.

- If you wish you can click this bar and drag it to the representation of the other monitor.

- This will move both the Menu bar and Dock to the other monitor.

- You can't put the Menu bar and Dock on different screens.

- If you change your mind just drag the white bar back again.

- Your Dock and Menu bar will now be back in the original location.
