Show Notes

When you unpacked your HTC HD7, you should have noticed a USB cable that can be used for

charging your phone

and transferring files to and from your computer. Before syncing, you'll also need the

Zune software

, which you can download at Zune.net. Once the software is installed, you'll need to start it up to continue.

Sign into Zune

using your Windows Live ID and connect your phone to begin. You'll now have the option to name your phone. Once that's done, your computer will check for updates for your phone. Since you can't disconnect your phone during this action, you should make sure that you have some time to spare as updating your phone can take some time.

Once that's done, you'll be in the Zune software where you can view your collection of media files and sync them with your phone. Select collection at the top to see your media broken down into audio, video, pictures, etc. By simply clicking and dragging one of these items onto the phone icon in the lower-left of the software, you can share files with your WP7 device. You can also go to the marketplace to purchase media and apps for your phone, though you'll need to add your credit card information.
