you can have one phone number that accepts the calls for all of your existing phone numbers. You decide which phone rings and when. You can have one line for business, one for personal and one VoIP line but you only need to give out one number.

- Once you have your

Google Voice

number you need to start association phone numbers with it.

- You add the number of one of your existing phones, say a cell phone.

- You determine is that phone receives SMS text messages.

- You also determine if that

phone has direct access to your voicemail

when you call your Google Voice number.

- You can give access with a PIN, without one, or require that you press the star (*) key during the greeting.

- You also determine when a phone rings.

- You can set a phone to ring on weekdays and/or weekends.

- You can set a phone to never ring on weekdays and/or weekends.

- You can create a custom schedule.

- If you wished, for example, you could have 6 phone numbers associated with Google Voice and only have one phone that rings.

- When you're done click Save and you're shown a verification number that's two digits.

- Click Connect and

Google Voice

will call the phone number.

- When you answer you'll hear a message asking you to enter the two digits shown on your screen.

- Enter the digits and that phone is now verified for use with Google Voice.
