Create your own toolbar in Windows

Windows provides you with lots of ways to get at your files, folders, and programs. Some ways are more complicated than others. If you'd like a really easy way to quickly access a folder or even a set of folders you can create your own toolbar. These toolbars can be accessed right from the Windows taskbar which makes them quick and easy.

- On your Windows desktop right-click on the taskbar and click New toolbar.

- In the dialog that appears you can pick out a folder that you would like to have as a toolbar.

- If you want you can also type in the URL of a Web page.

- For this example we'll click My Documents.

- Now you'll see My Documents in the Windows taskbar.

- You can click on it and quickly access any folder or file in your My Documents directory.

- If you right-click on the toolbar you created you have some control over what you see.

- You can elect to see small or large icons.

- You can have it show text and a title.

- You can open files and folders right from your new toolbar.
