- By using the free Ringdroid app you can create custom ringtones using your Android's audio files. Just download Ringdroid from the Android Market to start.
- Open Ringdroid and you'll see a list of audio files on your phone. Tap the menu key followed by Show All Audio to see all system sounds and audio files. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar to find a specific item.
- Select a file and you'll see a grey sound wave. Move the handles to select a ringtone-sized snippet of your song. This should be about 15 seconds in length. You can also zoom in or out here or tap play to hear your selection.
- Tap the disk icon to save and you'll be given the opportunity to rename the file. Hit Save and you'll be given the option to save your new audio file as Music, Alarm, Notification or Ringtone.
- Hit Save again and you'll have the option to make that file your default ringtone or assign it to a specific contact.
