You can download software and create your Website right on your PC. When you're ready you can upload it to your host. Or, you can use a service that is online and gives you the tools to create your page right on the Web. We'll look at both methods in this part of our Web Site 101 video tutorial series.

- There are lots of programs that run on your PC to create Websites.

- Here are a few:

- PageBreeze Free HTML Editor

- Alleycode HTML Editor

CoffeeCup HTML Editor

DidaPro HTML Editor

- You can find more on Tucows by searching on "website" or "HTML."

- With the desktop software you create your Web page and when you're ready you upload it using FTP.

- Many desktop programs come with templates, graphics, buttons, clip art and more.

- Many offer fancy features like Flash, Java and others.

- Some also have a built-in

file transfer protocol (FTP)

client.

- There are many free HTML editors and ones you can try for free.

- Try a few until you find the one that makes the most sense to you.
