You don't need to fire up your software editor to do simple

cropping and resizing

. With the online

Picnik photo service

you can freeform crop, crop to a bounding box to make pictures a certain dimension like 4x6" for printing, you can even set a cropping ratio like 4:3 or 16:9. It's also easy to

resize pictures

for posting to the Web, sending via email and so on.

Show Notes

- Choose a photo and select Edit from the context menu.

- Click on

Auto-fix

to modify picture properties.

- You can click on Undo at any time if you don't like the way the photo was changed.

- Choose rotate from the top menu bar to.

- You can flip, rotate and even mirror your photo. Click on the Straighten slider to fix a crooked photo.

- Click on reset to undo all edits.

- Click on

Crop

and drag the crop box to select the portion of the photo you want.

- Find preset cropping boxes from the pull-down menu at the top or manually enter a cropping size.

- Click on

Resize

to scale a picture to a given dimension.
