If you

use Google News

, then you might not know that there's a way to

customize Google News

to meet your preferences. Just

sign in to your Google account

and you'll be able to

add news sections

and

rate topics

according to your interest. You can even edit your location to get news from around the world or from around the neighborhood.

Show Notes

- While signed into your Google account, you can go to Google News and customize the types of stories that are displayed.

- To the right of the search bar, you'll see a region displayed. Click the drop-down arrow to change your region.

- You can also click on Add a section to add more sections to your Google News page.

- Below the Top Stories section, you'll find the News for you section where you can rate how interesting you find certain topics. Google will also learn your news preferences.

- At the right of the screen near the middle, you'll also see news from around your area. Click the Edit button to change your location by inputting your city, state or zip code.
