- Open the

FL Studio step sequencer

.

- The sequencer has four default sounds pre-loaded: kick, clap, high hat and snare.

- Click on the appropriate toggles to draw in beats.

- Change the tempo (BPM) by clicking on the tempo display and dragging up or down to set.

- To the left of each channel in the step sequencer are volume and pan knobs that you can adjust to change your song.

- Experiment with different patterns and ideas to see what you like.

- Right- or left-click on the green LED beside a channel to solo or un-solo a channel.

- The graph editor lets you change the velocity of beats.

- The keyboard editor lets you change the pitch of each beat of the selected channel.
