When you're looking at software for your BlackBerry many applications will specify what version of the operating system the application needs. It may say 4.2 or 4.5 or 4.6, but which do you have? If you don't know, here's where you can find out.

- On your BlackBerry navigate to Options and click with trackball or touchscreen.
- In Options navigate to About and click or touch.
- In About you'll see your software version on the third line.
- While the version may look like 4.6.0.167 the first two digits are generally what you need to know.
- So, in this example case the software version would be 4.6.
- It's important to know the entire version number, like 4.6.0.167, if you're looking to see if you have the latest build of the software.
