Flickr is fine as an online repository for all your images. However, the true power of Flickr comes when you connect with other Flickr users, friends and family to share images, join groups and just generally connect.

Show Notes

- To change the look of your Flickr photostream, click on change the layout of the page link.

- Browse through the layout options to find one that you like.

- Click on Contacts in the top navigation bar to find your friends who are already using Flickr or invite your non-Flickr-ing friends to join in.

- Invite friends one at a time by entering email addresses and clicking on send.
Or
- Search your Yahoo! Gmail or Windows Live Hotmail contacts for friends that are already on Flickr.

- When Flickr has found contacts, choose whether or not to add each one individually and denote them as family, friend or just a "contact."

- Click on Add contacts when you're done.

- To find groups

- Click on Groups in the top navigation menu.

- Search for a group that interests you by entering a term in the search box and hitting the Search button.

- Browse the search results and click on a group to see its brief. Click on Join to request entry into the group if it's private.

- To create your own group, click on Create a New Group in the Groups pull-down menu.
