While Yelp lets you search and browse user reviews without requiring sign up, you get more targeted results if you've signed up for an account. You can

search by business category and by highest rated

. You can even filter by specific neighborhood or search for a specific franchise or location.

- When you sign up for Yelp, you'll add your location. Then when you're signed in, your location will automatically be placed in the search box so you can search for businesses in your area.

- If you want to search for something specific, you can enter in the name into the search box and locate it that way or you can enter in key words that describe what you're looking for.

- You can view businesses by best match, highest rated, or most reviewed and you can even browse by neighborhood and type of place.
