look under

Applications

.

- Ubuntu comes with lots of software packaged right with it.

- Click on Applications and then on Accessories.

- You get a calculator, a CD/DVD Creator, a Character Map, and a Disk Usage Analyzer.

- You also get a program for tracking passwords, one for taking screen shots, and one for managing print jobs.

- In addition you get a text editor, a note program, and a program for terminal mode.

- All programs are free and open source.

- Under Graphics you get a photo manager, the GIMP image editor, the OpenOffice Drawing program, and an image scanning program.

- Found under office are a dictionary, and OpenOffice Spreadsheet, Presentation, and Writer, all compatible with Microsoft Office.

- Lastly, under Sound and Audio, you get a disc burner, a movie player, a music player and a sound recorder.

- All of this

free software

comes bundled with Ubuntu. You don't have to install it, you just have to use it and enjoy it.

- Plus, there's lots more open source software available that you can download and install.
