You may not have been aware that the
Wii is backwards compatible
withGameCube games
. The Wii can not onlyread GameCube discs
but also has four controller ports forGameCube controllers
and two ports for memory sticks so you can play anyGameCube game on your Wii

- The Nintendo Wii was built to be fully compatible with the Nintendo GameCube.
- The top slots open to reveal ports for up to four GameCube controllers and two memory cards.
- The Wii also accepts both Wii-sized discs and the smaller GameCube variety.
- You'll see the GameCube icon on the dashboard.
- Clicking the icon will bring you into the game. The game will even show available save points if you have a memory card plugged in.
- GameCube memory stick data can be managed from the Data Management screen.
- Game saves for GameCube games cannot be moved to the Wii but can be moved between GameCube memory cards.
