You may not have been aware that the

Wii is backwards compatible

with

GameCube games

. The Wii can not only

read GameCube discs

but also has four controller ports for

GameCube controllers

and two ports for memory sticks so you can play any

GameCube game on your Wii

whenever you want.

- The Nintendo Wii was built to be fully compatible with the Nintendo GameCube.

- The top slots open to reveal ports for up to four GameCube controllers and two memory cards.

- The Wii also accepts both Wii-sized discs and the smaller GameCube variety.

- You'll see the GameCube icon on the dashboard.

- Clicking the icon will bring you into the game. The game will even show available save points if you have a memory card plugged in.

- GameCube memory stick data can be managed from the Data Management screen.

- Game saves for GameCube games cannot be moved to the Wii but can be moved between GameCube memory cards.
