Social network have become a part of daily life. Facebook has over 150 million users. MySpace, Bebe, Twitter, and more also have millions of users. As a parent you need to have some guidelines for your children if you're going to let them participate online.

- For our example we'll use Facebook but the principles are the same on all the social networking sites.
- Click on Settings and then click on Privacy.
- Click on Profile and go through all the settings there to determine WHO can see what information. When you're done click Save.
- Click on Search and go through these settings as well. You can help determine WHO can search for you or your child.
- On each social network you'll find similar controls that let you have a measure of control over your visibility on that site.
- Parents should supervise their children on these sites and sit down with them to help customize settings especially privacy settings.
