Getting free pearls and coins in Aqua Pets for Android

- In the Aqua Pets app, go to your fish tank. Tap the Store icon to buy some fish food. There may be a correlation between food type and the likelihood of getting a pearl, but we've yet to find it. If you have any insight, share it in the comments below.

- Select a food and tap Buy. Return to your tank and double-tap to feed your fish. You can only dispense five pieces of food at a time so make sure all your fish get fed.

- Rare and Legendary creatures have a much better chance of giving you a pearl. If nothing else, they generate more money.

- When your fish have had their fill, go back to the game. Hit the Home button to return to your Android home screen.

- Tap the Menu key. Choose Settings. Scroll all the way down to select Date & time.

- Uncheck the box for Automatic. Tap Set date. Push the day value ahead one day. Hit the Set button. Tap the Home key to go back to your home screen.

- Now, relaunch the Aqua Pets app and you'll see in the top left of the screen the "happy fish" icon. Tap it, and on the screen that appears, tap Yes to go into your tank and view your fish.

- You'll see your fish are now flashing. Tap each one of them in turn to claim your reward.

- You'll get coins from most of your creatures. Every once in a while, you'll get a pearl. In our admittedly limited experience with the game, shrimp and seahorses seem the best bets for getting a pearl.

- You can do this trick as many times as you like, advancing one day each time.

- When you're finished, from your home screen tap Menu. Choose Settings. Go back to Date & time. Tap the box beside Automatic to once again use the network set date and time. All your Aqua Pets progress will be saved.
