While surfing around the Internet you pick up a lot of useless files. They go into a cache and are supposed to make your Web pages load faster. Whether you use Internet Explorer or Firefox you pick up these files every time you surf. Here's how to get rid of them.

- Open Firefox.
- Click Tools and then click Clear Private Data.
- In the dialog that comes up you can pick exactly what types of private data you want to get rid of, or keep, as the case may be.
- Click Clear Private Data and the things you selected are gone.
- In Internet Explorer click Tools and then click Internet Options.
- On the General tab go under Browsing History and click Settings.
- Here you can determine how often the cache (aka junk files) are refreshed. You can also limit the size of the cache. When you're done, click OK.
- Under Browsing history again click Delete.
- In the dialog that comes up you can delete items individually or you can click the Delete All button down at the bottom
