Getting onto the internet

- See your current connection status in the top-left of the iPhone. 3G is the fastest network available, EDGE and GPRS are slower but still usable networks.

- To launch the web browser built in to the iPhone 3G, click on the Safari icon on your home screen.

- Click on the address bar to bring up the on-screen keyboard. Enter your URL. Any URL you've input before will appear in your history and can be clicked.

- The iPhone does not display Flash. Flash is the technology most often used to display video online.

- Flipping the iPhone between horizontal and vertical will change the orientation of the page.

- Scroll up and down a page by dragging your finger across the screen.

To enable WiFi

WiFi enables faster and often free connection to the internet.

- Click on Settings to locate WiFi.

- Click on WiFi and select On.

- See available networks and click on one that's available.

- WiFi uses more battery than other modes so beware of over use!

- If there's a lock icon beside a network, that means you'll need a password to connect. Ask your network administrator or service provider for the password if you don't already know it.

- The signal bars offer information on how strong the wireless signal is.
