- Initial boot-up takes about 20 seconds from power-on to homescreen.

- The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen; not an AMOLED screen as was rumoured.

On the left:

- Dock / charge and sync cable connector

On the right:
- Power button
- Volume rocker
- MicroSD card slot
- SIM card slot (standard size, not micro SIM)

On the back:
- 5MP camera with flash

On the top:
- Four-stage headphone / mic jack

On the front:
- 1.3MP front-mounted camera
- Brightness sensor
- Four capacitive touch buttons for Settings, Home, Back and Search. These buttons are context specific.
