Not every program that runs on your
Android phone
is a program, so to speak. There are some that are called widgets and they work a bit differently. Unlike regular programs they don't just install themselves so you have to add them manually. Here'show to install a widget

- Widgets are different from applications. When you download an application it is automatically installed, which is not the case with widgets.
- Search the term "widget" in Android Market and you'll find over 2,200 widgets available.
- To add a widget tap on the main screen in any blank spot.
- A dialog will come up. Tap Widgets.
- Then a list of all the widgets you have downloaded on your phone will appear.
- Tap the widget you want and now it will appear on the main screen.
- Remember that widgets do not install themselves, unlike applications or programs.
