Just like Windows, you'll find that Ubuntu has a built-in function for
adding and removing programs
. Given that we're dealing with an open source operating system, you'll find that all of the software in Ubuntu's repositories is free... and if you want toremove a program from Ubuntu

- In Ubuntu click Applications and then click
- Ubuntu scans for all available and installed programs.
- You see a listing of all programs and you can also look by categories, like Office or Games.
- Items that are checked are installed.
- Items that are not checked are available.
- Ubuntu shows you a description of each program.
- To
- When you do that a dialog comes up asking it you want to Remove All so click that.
- Then click Apply Changes.
- A dialog comes up asking you to be sure and if you are click Apply again.
- A password box comes in an you have to enter your Administrator password and click OK.
- Ubuntu removes the program.
- Ubuntu then scans the system again to check the programs.
Add/Remove
