- In your router software look for Backup Settings.
- You'll have a button to click to backup all your settings.
- Generally, by default, this has a name like NETGEAR-WNR1000V2.CFG.
- My recommendation is to rename this file to something that is more meaningful to you.
- For example, the date of the backup like NETGEAR-28-06-2010.CFG.
- Or perhaps you have one configuration that has blocking and another that doesn't.
- You could name them NETGEAR-BLOCKING-ON.CFG and NETGEAR-NOBLOCK.CFG.
- If you need to restore just click the Restore button and select the file you want.
- This is also where renaming the backups will come in handy.
- If you want you can restore your router to default settings by clicking Erase.
