How to backup Windows 7 with Image for Windows
When you've had a computer for a few months or years (or days), you'll find that you get attached to the files that are on it. Anyone who's had a hard drive failure can attest to the fact that losing those files is a real disappointment. To avoid that situation, it's important tobackup your data

- Download Image for Windows.
- Once downloaded, install the program and reboot your computer.
- Now you're ready to get going, open Image for Windows.
- You can do a full backup, incremental backups and more.
- Image for Windows uses PHYLOCK technology so you can completely backup your computer while it's running.
- You can click on Settings to change certain default settings.
- For the most part, the settings are fine for average users, but advanced users might want to tweak some.
- Click Next.
- Now you'll select the drive you want to backup.
- Note that it backs up the Master Boot Record (MBR) along with the entire drive.
- Click Next and you'll be asked to pick the drive to backup to.
- Note that you have access to your entire network, CD and DVD drives, and so on.
- Click Next and you can give a name to your backup or use the default name which includes the date and time.
- Click Next and your backup starts.
- With the image that's created, you can completely restore your computer including the operating system, programs, data and so on.
