You may be familiar with ISO files that are images of a CD or DVD. However, IMG files are becoming increasingly popular and work in much the same way as an ISO file. Here's
how to burn an IMG file

- On your Mac click on Finder and then on Applications.
- When Applications opens click on the Utilities folder and then on Disk Utility.
- In many cases the IMG file you want to burn will already appear in the left-hand panel of Disk Utility.
- Highlight the file and click Burn on the top menu.
- A dialog asks you if you want to use SuperDrive and just click OK.
- Now a dialog appears to show the Disk Utility is burning the IMG to disk.
- When it's done it will eject your disc.
