- In Word 2007, on the Home tab, like for the large A and click on the arrow.
- The dialog that opens lets you select from a wide range of font colors.
- Pick a color, for example, green.
- If you look at the A now you'll see a green line under it.
- The line under the A symbol always reflects the current font color.
- If you have text highlighted it will show the color changes as you move through the various font colors.
